For over 50 years the name benien has been synonymous with customer and service-orientated activity in the Bremen region. We see ourselves as a service provider who processes induvidual customer requirements rapidly and efficiently. In order to do so we employ over 40 competent members of staff in our company.

As a supplier of technical commodities and a specialist in the fields of rubber and plastics technology, sealing technology and conveyance engineering we count companies from every sector of industry and trade amongst our customers.

Custom products manufactured by hand are as much a part of our range as serial products and complete systems.

"We find a solution for everything" is our company philosophy, and every employee in the benien house think and acts accordingly. Our conveyor belt technicians are available for our customers 365 days a year. Our shippers, the warehouse and our own fleet guarantee you the fastest delivery times. Our field sales personnel are available to our customers as competent points of contact on site. Short communication routes within our company guarantee satisfied customers.

Alongside competence and flexibility we guarantee you assured top quality. Since 1998 our quality management system has been audited by Lloyd´s Register and is currently certified in accordance with ISO 9001:2008.


Facts & figures

  1958   The company is founded by Friedrich Benien as "TEWA" Technischer Warenvertrieb Friedrich Benien. The company head office is in Langenstraße, in Bremen city centre.
  1964   The company premises require expansion. The company moves to Grünenstraße in Bremen Neustadt.
  1966   Hans-Jürgen Müller starts working for the company. At the same time cooperation commences with the Dutch conveyor belt manufacturer "Dunlop-Enerka".
  1972   Through the takeover of commercial representation of "Gurtec Gummierungstechnik", Bremerhaven (now SANDVIK, Essen) it is possible to acquire an additional, lastingly important supplier for the development of the conveyor belt department.
  1974   The Benien family decides to erect a new building on the "green field" and builds on Hemelinger Hafendamm. Alongside storage and office space, this includes a hydraulic workshop, cable production facility and conveyor belt workshop. Two external companies also use the site.
  1978   Company founder Friedrich Benien passes away. His daughters appoint the company´s then legal representative Hans-Jürgen Müller as Managing Director.
  1981   Hans-Jürgen Müller & Dieter Koose establish Benien Vertriebsgesellschaft für Drucklufttechnik mbH.
  1983   Friedrich Benien GmbH & Co. KG celebrates its 25-year company anniversary.
  1992   Jörg Müller starts work in field sales in the conveyance technology department. The last external tenant moves out and makes space for the new "foam technology" department.
  1996   Olaf Reedwisch & Hans-Jürgen Müller establish"Benien Produktionstechnik GmbH" and move operations to Delmenhorst.
  1998   Introduction of a quality management system, which is successfully certified the following year by Lloyd`s Registerin accordance with DIN EN ISO 9002.
  2000   From "conveyance technology" to technical commerce: Jörg Müller becomes the new sales manager of the "Technology&Commerce" department
  2003   Hans-Jürgen Müller withdraws from managing "production technology" and sells his shares.
  2005   The daughters of the company´s founder sell their shares. "Friedrich Benien GmbH & Co. KG" immediately becomes a proprietor-run family company, managed by the shareholders Hans-Jürgen and Jörg Müller.
  2006   Hans-Jürgen Müller celebrates 40 years of service to the company.
  2008   In spring the company celebrates its 50-year anniversary. Almost at the same time building work commences on the new site in Europaallee on the Hansalinie industrial park.
  2009   Between Christmas and New Yeas the entire workforce of Friedrich Benien GmbH & Co. KG and Benien Vertriebsgesellschaft für Drucklufttechnik mbH relocates to its new site and starts work on 5th January 2009 in the new premises.
